BRENT JOSEPH

(Writer/Artist)

Ah, my bio. Where to begin, where to begin . . . I grew up reading comics. STAR WARS was my first comic book ever, and the only series I collected until junior high school. After that, I collected everything -- and I mean EVERYTHING. My comic book collection is half-filled with valuables like X-MEN and BATMAN, the other half consists of titles like ADOLESCENT RADIOACTIVE BLACKBELT HAMSTERS and EQUINE (and if anyone comes up to me knowing what EQUINE was - without researching it - I'll buy you lunch). In college I had to forego my collecting comics in order to direct my finances to my education, thus the last comics I purchased are during the early days of IMAGE comics. However, on the bright side, I did graduate with a BFA in illustration from Cal State Fullerton, so it was not in vain. I've done various freelance work, from toy premiums for STAR WARS and FLIPPER movies with companies like APPLAUSE and PEPSI-CO PLAYWORKS to independent comics like KING ROACH and HIGH OCTANE THEATER. I veered away from the art scene for several years working with developmentally disabled children, and later with adults at a non-profit organization (thus the disabilities of SCRUFFY PUPPIES characters MOUTH and BLASTER - see "Dog Tags" to view their profiles). But now I'm BACK!!! It's taken a couple years to find my stride, but I'm determined and quite frankly, feel destined to complete my childhood dream of releasing my own comic book. I thank everyone involved, which includes my mom, Robert Zailo, my cuz Michael Croghan, and everyone of my friends and family who have supported me on my journey. (Oh, by the way, if you're wondering what my favorite comic was of all time, well . . . ELFQUEST of course! Highly recommended to everyone!)

ROBERT W. ZAILO

(Artist/Inker)

I have always wanted to draw comics. I've worked as a commercial artist for years and not always in comics. Many times people ask me what type of art I do and I have to answer honestly, "Whatever they will pay me for." I have worked in illustration ranging from comic books and cartoons to advertising and caricature, as well as product design and scenic painting. Some of my handiwork can be seen as far away as Disneyland Tokyo. But in my heart I still wish to do comics for the rest of my life. (You may check out ROBERT's work at: http://zailo.com)

MICHAEL CROGHAN

(The Webmaster)

My adorable cousin is so busy, he left his bio to me . . . poor, poor man. I suppose I shouldn't go into his heroic past. . . no wait -- let's. It was a sunny afternoon, that day . . . when the lion escaped his cage at the zoo. Mike, just a wide-eyed 12 year old back then, was separated from his family by the stampede of people fleeing for their lives. Lost and confused among the ruckus, he stumbled onto a frightening scene: the ferocious 600 lb solid mass lion had cornered several children near the churro stand. Without any thought for his own safety, he hurled himself at the beast, wrestling the monster into submission with his 40" bicepts. Victorious, he would've been a national hero if it weren't for a new Michael Jackson plastic surgery stealing the headlines. Regardless of the lack of attention, Mike still went into hiding in deep unknown caverns with nothing but his laptop computer. Years later he emerged with revolutionary computer knowledge too complex for us simple-minded people to even hope to comprehend. Now he serves multiple companies hosting and maintaining websites with his unparalleled ingenuity. You can find him at: www.digital keg.com, and can contact him from the bottom of every SCRUFFY PUPPY web page, or click on "bark" and contact "webmaster".

A BIG thank you to MICHAEL CROGHAN of DIGITAL KEG for creating and maintaining this website.
